Today's 8th, 9th and 10th period was spent, well, sandpapering the tables and applting shellac on them. I've no idea what shellac is, but it's sort of like paint, except that it dries quicker and doesn't seem that thick. The main point of doing this is to get rid of those messages and swear words on the desks such as "f***", "soh-hai", "my last wish", etc.
We were all given jobs. There're 4 jobs, which are sandpapering the tables, cleaning up the dust and shavings, applying the shellac and looking after the bags. I got the "charming" job of cleaning the dust. Oh well, it could have been worse.
This is the order of how good/bad the jobs are, from the best to worst, and why.
1. Looking after the bags - Heck, you pretty much just mess around as there's nothing to do.
2. Applying shellac - Well, it's fun, but watch out or you'll get a really hard to wash off stain on your shirt.
3. Cleaning up - Yeah right. Dust up your nose. Dust in your eye. Dust on your clothes. Dust on the wet cloth you're holding. Dust on your hands. Not at all charming.
4. Sandpapering - Fantastically noisy, dusty, and energy consuming, seeing as there's a lot of swear words on the desks.
So now my desk feels... weird. Seems like somebody didn't do too good a job applying the brown stuff...
